Church Entry Guidelines:

• Before coming to church, please check your temperature. If you have a temp or feel under the weather, please stay home.
• Please put on a mask before entering church. If you do not have a mask, then one will be provided to you. A mask is available for pickup at the entry table if a person is entering with no mask.
• All bibles and hymns will be removed from pews. Everything will be on the screen. There will be bibles available for those who wish to have one during the service. Please return bible in the used box on the way out.
• When entering the church through the front doors, there is a touchless hand sanitizer machine on the wall to your left. Please use hand sanitizer when entering. Keep your hands 3-4 inches below machine and it will dispense hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer will also be in each pew of the church.
• We recommend social distancing of 6 feet apart with families sitting close together. We trust people to make responsible Spirit led decisions when finding your best place to sit. Please respect the spacing boundaries of those around you.
• Bible study, small groups, ad board, team and committee meetings can resume under these guidelines.
• Singing will be allowed, but only in masks. Considering masks must be worn, each person should decide if sitting is more comfortable or if humming the music is more convenient.
• Children’s church is postponed until school starts in the fall. Children will follow similar guidelines as school when they go to their classroom. Children’s message will resume in August or September from their seats.
• No paper bulletins will be handed out. Service will be on the screen. Any announcements should be emailed to Sarah: bentonumcsecretary@gmail.com
• Due to wearing masks all prayer requests should be emailed to Sarah no later than Saturday night: bentonumcsecretary@gmail.com
• No flagging until further notice.
• No candle lighting until further notice.
• No coffee fellowship, snacks, gathering events, or food events until further notice.
• No communion until further notice. Future discussions around prepackaged elements or people bringing their own bread/juice to give to self from pew after blessing of elements.
• Congregation greeting will be removed from service. Any greeting should be limited to a verbal greeting, no handshaking.
• Pastor will not be shaking hands as people leave.
• Proposed to parents that confirmation group will resume mid-September and ceremony October 4th. This would be tentative based on how COVID recommendations are at this time.
• We applied for a technology grant in an effort to livestream service. Until we know if we received these funds, the on-line message will be posted on-line Sunday afternoon once uploaded. There will be no more livestreaming at 10am, but it will be posted at another time that day.

At Benton UMC our church doors are wide open. We encourage you to come and experience the love of God. We have uplifting music and a message of hope that will encourage you in your faith. The first Sunday of every month we have communion during service and potluck after service. We look forward to seeing you. God Bless!
